Believing in the importance of developing and advancing thought, knowledge, and scientific research, royal directives were issued in 2001 to establish the Center for Defense Studies. This center was envisioned as a specialized hub dedicated to defense and military studies, contributing to exploring future challenges and supporting the journey of scientific research within the Ministry of Defense and the Sultan’s Armed Forces by preparing researchers with a high level of knowledge and expertise. In 2022, Royal Decree No. 27/2022 was issued to establish the Academy of Strategic and Defense Studies, comprising the National Defense College, the Joint Command and Staff College, and the Center for Strategic and Defense Studies.
